02 Nov Volunteer with Real Change News! Provide Food and High-Demand Items
Real Change Vendors work hard-selling the award-winning weekly newspaper on the streets of Seattle. However, due to the impacts of COVID-19, foot traffic is sparse and customers are few and far between. Today, the income vendors depended on for food and essentials are dangerously low.
However, with the help of incredible volunteers like you, we can ensure that those living without shelter amid COVID-19 don’t also go without food and basic necessities.
Please consider donating food or high-demand items to a vendor today by shopping on the Real Change Target Wish List, or any online store of your choice. Donations can be mailed directly to our Seattle office for immediate distribution, at Real Change, 219 1st Ave. S., Suite 220, Seattle, WA 98104. Or, you are welcome to shop at your local store and schedule a drop-off at our office by simply emailing email@example.com!
As you shop to support vendors, please feel free to use this shopping list as a guide:
- Nonperishable food that can be enjoyed without a can opener, microwave, or stove.
- Bottled water, Gatorade, or juice
- Brief Underwear – adult men’s and women’s, all sizes (with large and extra-large being the most in-demand, followed by medium, and then small).
- Face Masks – cloth or disposable
- Hand Warmers
- Knit Gloves – adult, “one size fits all” (any color)
- Socks – adult, men’s or “one size fits all” (any color and length)
- Wet Wipes or Face/Hand Wipes
If you would like to join this volunteer opportunity or have any questions at all, please reply to this post or email firstname.lastname@example.org for further details.
Real Change is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit and all donations are tax-deductible.
